Passing down family recipes is great. Including the memories connected with those recipes is even better! The Maine Kitchen Heirloom helps you do both. This is a unique and priceless treasure you create for the generations who follow you.
On its pages, you will write out not only your favorite recipes, but also some of the memories associated with those dishes. If you were blessed to receive recipes from past generations, this is the place to record them for the next ones. Your labor of love in filling out the pages will result in a one-of-a-kind keepsake that can be passed on for many years.
- The book is 5.5" by 8.5" with a spiral binding and over 100 pages. The back cover includes an 1860 map of Maine.
- There are 75 recipe pages that include space for the directions, as well as the source of the recipe (a favorite cookbook, your own design, great-aunt Sarah, etc) and memories you have from either making or serving the dish (Is this Uncle Bob's favorite? Did you whip this up for a special occasion? Was your first attempt at this recipe less than ideal?)
- Fill-in index pages for easy reference.
- A full overview with instructions, suggestions, and ideas to help you get started.
- A page to trace ownership. Fill in your name and the date you started working on the book. When you're ready to pass it on to your child, grandchild, niece or nephew or cousin, write the recipient's name and date you gifted it to them. They'll add to the book and then one day pass it down to the next generation.
- Menu pages listing the foods you always have on holidays or other special days of the year.
- A record of your cooking journey.
Younger generations are eager for the tangible in this digital age. Give them (and those who come after them) the gift of your handwritten recipes and memories.
